A recent event which unfolded in the town of St. Louis comes to prove that the right man or, rather, woman at the right time can make all the difference in the world. According to the St. Louis Police Department, a 35-year-old convenience store clerk shot and killed an armed individual before he could rob the store. Although the woman was wounded during the gunfight, the St. Louis University Hospital declared that she would make a complete recovery.
Convenience Store Clerk Defends Store
On Monday, at approximately 3:50 am, the St. Louis authorities were called to a 7/11 store located in town’s center. According to the person who dialed 911, an armed robbery might be taking place at the convenience store.
When they arrived, the authorities discovered a wounded 35-year-old employee and another individual who appeared to be unconscious. Both were transported to the St. Louis University Hospital to receive medical treatment.
However, according to the ER doctors, the individual brought together with the 35-year-old woman died, as a result of his extensive injuries. After she had recovered, the woman told the detectives what happened at the convenience store.
According to the woman’s statements, she and a couple of her colleagues went out on a cigarette break just outside the store, when they saw an ominous-looking individual coming towards them. Reportedly, the man stopped in front of the 35-year-old convenience store employee and took out a handgun he kept concealed in his jacket.
Seeing that the individual clearly wanted to rob the 7/11 store, the employee took out her own gun and shot the individual several times at close range. During the gunfight that followed, the individual managed to shoot the 35-year-old store employee two times in her right leg.
Suspect Was Later Declared Dead at the Hospital
However, according to the coroner’s report, the armed robber was shot in the chest, thigh, and arms. The 7/11 store’s owner applauded his employee’s quick thinking, telling the press that the encounter could have had a different ending if it wasn’t for her swift intervention. The owner also added that the woman worked at the convenience store for several years and that she was always a model employee.
Ending his statement in a jovial manner, the convenience store owner declared that, after all these years, he and his employees have finally managed to come up with an adequate nickname for the woman. After this incident, the woman is now called the ‘She-ro.’
