As unlikely as it might seem, a Dormont homeowner who wanted to take his dog for a walk had the morbid surprise of discovering a body in his backyard. Officials identified the victim as being Chaz Robinson, a 35-years old Dormont resident, who was shot dead multiple time by an unknown assailant.
Dormont law enforcement officers are currently investigating how a dead body wound up in a Dormont resident’s backyard. The officials have reason to believe that the body may be related to a shooting that took place in the same area on Wednesday night.
According to the police reports, these are the events leading to the discovery of the dead body in the Dormont homeowner backyard. On Wednesday night, at around 8 pm, the local police department received an emergency call from that area. The caller said that she heard at least five gunshots near the intersection of Broadway and LaSalle avenues.
The investigators arrived after a few minutes and began searching the area for clues. The area was filled with ballistic evidence, but the officers were unable to find any victims.
On Thursday afternoon, a woman living in the same neighborhood was preparing to out for a walk with her dog. She untied the canine, which began to pant. In a few seconds, the woman’s dog rushed to the backyard and began to bark.
When the woman arrived to see why her dog was acting strangely, she discovered the lifeless body of an African-American citizen and called the law enforcement officers. The investigators who arrived on the scene declared that the victim, who was later identified as 35-years old Chaz Robison, was shot at least twice from a close distance.
The authorities regard this case as a homicide since no weapon was found on the body to indicate suicide. In addition, officials are investigating this case in connection with the shots heard by the woman on Wednesday evening.
