Fellow Fallout denizens rejoice, as the almighty Bethesda has bestowed upon us the gift a PC and console version of the ever-popular iOS and Android hit. In a recent press statement, the company announced that the Windows 10 and Xbox One version of the game would be launched on the 7th of February.
This means that you will soon be able to enjoy the marvelous vault-managed game on your PC or Xbox One console for free. However, to play the game, you will need to install Bethesda’s Launcher from the Xbox Store.
Now, how is this version of Fallout Shelter any different from the one launched back in 2015? Well, according to Bethesda, the Windows 10/Xbox One version of Fallout Shelter will include all DLCs and goodies released so far. This includes rooms, dweller customization options, pets, materials, Fallout 4 characters, and crafting skills.
In addition, the latest version of the popular vault-management game will also include Bethesda’s improved combat system and an entirely new quest system. The company also said that the latest version of Fallout Shelter would also feature a double-save system, meaning that you will be able to keep and access the saves from other mobile devices running Fallout Shelter.
But this is only the beginning. During the same interview, Bethesda also mentioned something about revamping Fallout 4. What does this mean in terms of game experience? Well, as far as we can tell, the company is preparing the terrain for the latest Fallout 4 DLC called Nuka-World. Moreover, Bethesda also announced a high-resolution texture pack for the post-apocalyptic game.
So, what’s the deal with Fallout Shelter? As far as the story goes, the player finds himself ‘promoted’ to Overseer, and pretty soon he realizes that sitting in the big chair is a bigger challenge than anticipated.
As the vault’s Overseer, you must make sure that every vault-related operation runs as smoothly as possible. One the most demanding job is to make sure that your vault dwellers are happy, meaning that you have to feed them, clothe them, assign tasks suited to their skills, protect them from Raider attacks, and maintain their working environment.
In addition to vault management tasks, you will also have to send dweller outside in order to gather precious resources. Why is Fallout Shelter so popular? Because it shows players what it’s like to have the responsibility of thousands of individuals seeking comfort after the nuclear disaster that wiped out most of the world.
