Mount Carmel police officials reported that a 56-year-old woman died after her arm got stuck in a donation bin. The incident, which took place on Sunday evening, is regarding as a freak accident by the authorities and by the entire Mount Carmel community. Coroners declared that the woman died as a result of blunt trauma and hypothermia.
Chief Brian Hollenbush of the Mount Carmel Police Department declared that 56-year-old Judith Permar had been found dead on Sunday morning. The woman has found with her arm stuck in a donation bin, and several bags were found lying on the ground near a toppled ladder.
The initial investigation, in this case, revealed that the 56-year-old Mount Carmel woman was just about to drop off some clothes she found at home in the donation bin. Her family and friends said that the woman was a kind and considerate soul who would donate clothes and other items at least once a week.
However, the Mount Carmel PD’s investigation revealed another side of the story. According to Hollenbush, when the authorities discovered Permar’s corpse hanging from the donation bin they’ve also discovered several bags lying on the ground.
After investigating the site, the authorities said that when the donation bin’s door slammed shut and trapped Permar’s arm, she was trying to remove another bag from the bin. Furthermore, Hollenbush said that several weeks ago, the donation bin was looted by an unknown individual who took a considerate amount of clothes.
The Mount Carmel woman’s car was discovered near the donation bin, with the engine running. By the fact that she had no clothes in her car, the authorities concluded that the woman did not come to donate clothes, but to steal them.
As for the manner in which the Mount Carmel woman died, James Kelley, the Northumberland County coroner, declared that it was a combination of blunt trauma and hypothermia. As the donation bin’s door slammed shut over her arm, it produced considerable injuries. In addition, the woman must have sit in the cold for at least six hours before she died.
When asked about the deceased Mount Carmel woman, Hollenbush declared that she knew her well and that she seemed very nice. Hollenbush was deeply saddened by her untimely death and about the fact that she used to steal clothes from the donation bin on a regular basis.
