Ricky Gray, the author of the 2006 Virginia slaying, was executed on Wednesday, at the Greenville Correctional Center. Officials who carried out Gray’s execution declare that the murderer had no final words to say and did not seem to feel any remorse about what he did. The convict was pronounced dead at 9:42 pm.
Rick Gray, the man sentenced to death and life in prison after slaying a family of four people in 2006, was executed on Wednesday. When asked by the officials if he had any last words to say before the sentence was carried out, Ricky Gray simply said ‘Nope.’
Gray’s execution began at 9:28 pm when the officials administered the lethal injection. After five minutes of heavy breathing, the convict stopped breathing and was officially pronounced dead at 9:42 pm.
The man’s execution was carried out using a combination of potassium chloride, rocuronium bromide, and midazolam. According to the prison’s staff who administered Gray’s lethal combination, the first substance stops the heart, the second one inhibits breathing, while the third one is a sedative.
Ricky Gray, the prisoner who was executed on Wednesday, is the author of a quadruple homicide, which shook the state of Virginia. On New Year’s Eve 2006, Ricky Gray and Ray Dandridge, his associate, were looking for a house to burglarize.
Unfortunately, their target was the home of Katheryn and Bryan Harvey, a well-known couple from Richmond. Katheryn was the co-owner of a Richmond-based toy store called World of Mirth, while her husband was an influential singer and guitarist.
On New Year’s Eve, while waiting for guests to arrive at their chili dinner, the Harvey couple neglected to close the front door. Gray and Dandridge saw the door and went inside to steal the family’s valuables.
According to the authorities, the robbers dragged the Harvey couple along with their two kids, Stella (9) and Ruby (4) in the house’s basement, and tied them up. Ricky Gray slashed their throats and bashed their skulls in using a hammer he found lying around the basement.
After the deed had been done, Gray and Dandridge took off with a computer, a bag of cookies, and a wedding ring. Unfortunately, this was not the only vile act committed by Gray and his associate. The investigators have discovered that the man was also guilty of having to participate in a triple homicide, which took place not long after he slew the Harvey family.
However, the author of the Baskerville triple homicide was not Ricky Gray, but Dandridge, his associate. For his deeds, Dandridge has been sentenced to life in prison.
