Sister Wives Season 17 Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer & More

Sister Wives Season 17 Release Date: Sister Wives is an American reality TV show that made its debut on TLC on September 26, 2010. The show depicts the lives of Kody Brown, his four wives (Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn), and their 18 children as they transition from polygamy to monogamy in subsequent seasons.

Beginning the series in Lehi, Utah, the family subsequently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2011 and Baderville, Arizona (northwest of Flagstaff, Arizona) in the middle of 2018.

Brown and his four wives have indicated that they participated in the show to increase public awareness of polygamist households and challenge social biases.

Brown asserts that his polygamous relationship is legitimate since he is officially married to just one woman (Robyn), while his other marriages (to Meri, Janelle, and Christine) are “spiritual unions.”

In season 16, despite the family’s pretense to be polygamists, Kody Brown is enjoying a monogamous lifestyle with his wife, Robyn. Kody and Robyn purchased a home together, while Meri rents a house in Flagstaff, and Janelle likewise rents but may be seen residing in her RV on the family property, Coyote Pass, during the summer months. Here is everything we learn about Season 17 of Sister Wives.

Sister Wives Season 17 Plot

The series follows Kody Brown, his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown, and their 18 kids.

In season 1, the show documented Kody’s 2010 courtship and marriage to Robyn, his fourth wife.  Robyn was the first new wife to join the family in the last sixteen years.

Christine, the third wife of Kody, departed the family in 2021.  While Meri, Kody’s first wife, remains in the family, both Kody and Meri have acknowledged publicly that their relationship is one of companionship rather than a ‘complete marriage.

In the forthcoming episodes of Sister Wives Season 17, Kody’s relationships with the three ladies will continue to take center stage. Following Janelle’s COVID-19 diagnosis, Episode 1 will focus on Christine and Kody’s marital troubles.

Since Sister Wives Season 17 was recorded months ago, Christine has been living a peaceful life in Utah, away from Kody, according to her social media followers.

In addition to their marital troubles, this season will also focus on Meri and Kody’s bond.

Kody Brown, his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Robyn, and Christine, and their 17 children attempt to live as a “normal” family amid a society that disapproves of their lifestyle. Each thirty-minute episode explores the inner workings of a polygamist household, highlighting the surprisingly deep and loving relationships among Kody’s wives.

The series also depicts the powerful dynamics of a man juggling three women while trying to keep it private from the outside world; nevertheless, keeping it a secret from the outside universe is not the only challenge the Brown family confronts.

Sister Wives Season 17 Trailer

In the Sister Wives Season 17 teaser, Christine is shown to her family that she is leaving Kody after 25 years of marriage, with heartbreaking scenes of her family and friends grappling with her choice.

Christine tells the cameras that she believes Kody loves more about Robyn more (his fourth wife). Still, Kody believes that with her departure, “the message we sent to the world about functional polygamy suddenly appears so disordered.” Later in the trailer, he yells at her, “After all these years and the sacrifices I’ve made to love you, it’s just a knife in the kidney!” Check the trailer below:
