This week came with news from the developers of Alto’s Adventure. It saw the release of the very first trailer for the game’s Odyssey sequel. Named Alto’s Odyssey, it is expected for release sometime in the summer.
Alto’s Adventure is an endless runner video game. It was released back in 2015. And it is developed by Snowman. The game tries to bring with it the ethereal atmosphere and feeling experience when snowboarding. The user plays by tapping the screen to perform tricks and jumps.
Their purpose is to reach the game goals, mark a competitive high score, and unlock updates. Since its release, Alto’s Adventure has had its fair share of popularity. One felt on both the iOS and Android platforms.
This week marks the game’s second birthday. And in order to celebrate it, its developers launched a trailer. One which officially presents Alto’s Odyssey sequel. Snowman has been teasing users with a sequel since back in December 2016.
At the time, the developers announced just its name and potential release year. But they offered no actual details. On Monday, February 20th, Snowman offered some information on the Odyssey sequel.
This is expected for release sometime in summer 2017. Still, an official release date has yet to be announced. And the trailer teaser is still a somewhat vague presentation. Some might even argue that it offered no clear information.
Nonetheless, the Odyssey sequel trailer did reveal its next location. Alto’s follow-up game will be taking place in the dessert. At least this is the most likely presumption. From the video itself, the viewer can notice the different background.
And the video’s description also comes with a ‘request’ for the users. They will have to seek to discover the “secrets of the endless desert”. Which indicates that Alto and his crew will be swapping the snowy slopes for sandy dunes.
Still, this landscape change leads to new questions instead of offering answers. More exactly, users are wondering what will happen to the llama herd? This seems unlikely to move to the dessert. Or if they did, in fact, spot the Wingsuit in the video.
Alto’s Odyssey sequel saw the return of the original Adventure team. Both artist Harry Nesbitt and Ryan Cash returned for the game. Most expect the sequel to come with some common elements with Adventure.
Besides its side-scrolling gameplay, they are expecting a Zen Mode. This allows the users to play in a stress-free mode that will enable them to simply enjoy the gameplay and scenery. And even with Photo Mode.
Besides the Odyssey sequel trailer, Snowman also temporarily dropped Alto’s Adventure’s price tag. For its second anniversary, the game is on sale at $1.99 for the iOS version. On Android, the game is free-to-play. It does come with some minimum in-game cash bonuses.
Most players are expecting to transpose their Adventure gained skills and tricks to Odyssey. So users interested in the sequel could check up the original, if they have yet to do so.
Snowman, its developer, is also going through a quite busy period. Besides Alto’s Odyssey sequel, it will also be releasing “Where Cards Fall”. The company’s next game is slated for launch sometime this fall.
Unfortunately, Alto’s Odyssey platforms have yet to be announced as well.
