Game of Thrones has become more than just an HBO TV show. This is one of the most successful fictional universes with queens and kings, dragons, undead, mythical Gods, and witches in the world. Fans of this production have also developed a habit to race with one another in a contest of the most far-fetched theories for the future events that their beloved characters would go through. An unintended leak might have just confirmed that Bethesda plans to expand this universe into an upcoming open world game.
Game of Thrones Fans Discovered a Target Web Page about Bethesda’s New Open World Game
The American video game publisher Bethesda Softworks LLC might be preparing a big surprise for Game of Thrones fans. The leak came from Target’s website through a new listing. The company has one blank web page with nothing on it but the title “Bethesda: Game of Thrones.”
While there is no substantial proof to confirm this project, the material appeared too convenient the day before the season 7 finale. However, there were several hints over the past years that linked the video game publisher to Game of Thrones. For instance, six years ago Bethesda approved the offer to create an RPG based on the land of Westeros.
Bethesda Has Also Announced Two Major Productions in the Making with Undisclosed Themes
Nonetheless, the company dropped the project in exchange for developing Skyrim. That’s because the company found an original universe more enticing than a world renowned one. It turned out that they were absolutely right to proceed this way as Skyrim became one of the best RPGs in the world. However, a six-year break doesn’t make the project became unapproachable.
On top of all these clues, there are two other major ones. The company announced that it has two massive products in the works that follow the large-scale model of an RPG. Both these products are going to follow in the footsteps of hits Fallout and Skyrim. Therefore, one of these two has high chances to be the game version of a Westeros adventure.
